What We Do

Health Services

Addressing the physical and mental health needs of our clients using proven interventions

Once in stable housing, clients can focus on their health needs. We’re there to help.

The instability and trauma of homelessness can cause or exacerbate health conditions, which is why it’s said that “housing is healthcare.” Once in stable housing, individuals can focus on their health and begin to address the barriers that previously prevented them from accessing reliable, high-quality healthcare.

At VOA-GNY, our case managers and social workers meet clients where they’re at to connect them to the health resources they need, including primary care physicians, mental health counseling, substance use treatment, and more.

Health by the Numbers

Many clients with a history of homelessness may have only received piecemeal health and social services. We’re working to change that.
