What We Do

Northern New Jersey

We provide housing and other support services to adults with complex health needs and youth at risk of homelessness in Middlesex, Union, Hudson, Bergen and Passaic Counties.

Volunteers of America-Northern New Jersey, a division of VOA-GNY, helps adults and youth in need achieve housing stability so they can thrive.

Through our residential programs, we provide housing and behavioral health services to adults, and independent living services to youth at risk of homelessness who are working toward self sufficiency, including those aging out of foster care.

We help connect individuals and families to the resources they need to access affordable housing. We also provide connections to continuing education, employment training and more to help clients build the financial foundation they need for long-term resilience.

Public Policy in NNJ

Our advocacy work in New Jersey is tailored to the region’s particular needs and opportunities. Working collaboratively to end homelessness and advance transformational change, we partner with numerous stakeholders to address the state’s housing crisis. We advocate for people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, domestic violence, youth, veterans, people with disabilities, our staff, and our sector by working with our partners to advance and inform better policies, systems, and processes informed by experience and data, lobbying for critical funding, and fighting to make a difference.
