While our paid employees work hard every day to support the individuals and families who rely on our services, we count on you—our partners and volunteers—to help us do it.
Volunteer opportunities are currently open to groups of all sizes and are customized to meet your goals as well as our clients’ needs. There’s no shortage of ways to show our clients that you care.
Activities can be seasonal, year-round, on-site at one of our programs or hosted at your office. Lend your time and skills as a volunteer with VOA-GNY and make a lasting impact in your community!
Volunteer Opportunities
We offer a range of engagement activities that can be tailored to meet your goals. Below are some examples:
Spend an afternoon doing arts and crafts with young learners in our special education preschool program
Host a summer BBQ and games day for veterans at one of our supportive housing programs
Write Valentine’s Day cards and donate candy for the seniors at our supportive housing programs
Lend your expertise to women re-entering the workforce by hosting a resume and interview workshop
Pack personal care kits with essential hygiene items like toothbrushes and soap for individuals in our shelters
Donate holiday toys and gifts for the families at our family or domestic violence shelters
