Senior Housing

Housing Manhattan, The Bronx

Service Overview

We are committed to helping older adults age in place with dignity and retain access to a network of caregivers and other community support that keeps them engaged and not isolated. Our senior residences provide affordable housing to low- and very low-income seniors, accompanied by on-site, wrap-around support services.

What We Do

Our new senior residences feature accessible design elements that support mobility and independence, as well as welcoming communal spaces that encourage social interaction and connection. On-site services, including case management and health-related support, are available to help meet the unique needs of all residents. Staff regularly host events, field trips and other opportunities for residents to build community and fight the social isolation that is common with aging.

Sites and Programs

Referrals for most of these housing programs are made through New York City and State agencies. Some units are available through NYC’s Housing Connect lottery.

96-Unit Single Room Occupancy Residence East 12th Street SRO provides permanent supportive housing to single adults over the age of 55 who were formerly homeless, including veterans. The residence offers safe, comfortable, low-cost housing and comprehensive on-site services.

A Community Called Home

Bronx native Lenny, 67, experienced years of housing insecurity. VOA-GNY’s East Clarke Place Senior Residence finally provided him a home.
