Volunteers of America-Greater New York Unveils Bold, New Branding and Website
Refresh reflects the organization’s growing influence in the housing and homeless services sector in the region, while centering human impact and advocacy.
NEW YORK, NY – Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-GNY), an anti-poverty organization with a long history of serving those in need, today announced the launch of its redesigned website and brand identity, marking an exciting new chapter for the nonprofit as it advances its vision of ending homelessness in the region.
Changes include a refined logo and more vibrant color palette, as well as stronger messaging that better represents VOA-GNY’s position as a leading provider of human services in New York and Northern New Jersey.
“For more than a century, VOA-GNY has been serving individuals and families in need through innovative, person-centered models of support,” said Dr. Jeffrey R. Ginsburg, President and CEO of VOA-GNY. “As we approach our 130th anniversary, we felt it was time for a refresh that not only aligns with these values but also embodies our growth and evolution as a leading organization in our sector.”
The changes are driven by a significant expansion of the organization’s program services, affordable housing development pipeline, philanthropy, and public policy infrastructure over the last five years. During that time, VOA-GNY’s operating budget increased 75% to $175 million, powering a dedicated and expert workforce of approximately 1,200. The refresh also reflects the energy and creativity behind VOA-GNY’s recent demonstration projects like Street to Home—a successful and widely cited “Housing First” pilot that transitions unsheltered individuals directly into stable affordable housing.
“After more than a year of preparation and anticipation, we’re thrilled to debut our new, accessible website and refreshed brand identity,” said Rochelle Heinrichs, Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Communications at VOA-GNY. “Drawing inspiration from innovative brands, powerful advocacy campaigns, and peer organizations, our goal was to present a clear, unified message of who VOA-GNY is and what we do, while centering client impact and highlighting the values that make VOA-GNY a trusted organization in the community.”
Featured prominently on the new website is the text, “Housing is just the start” — a concept that is pivotal to VOA-GNY’s work. The message is not only a nod to the organization’s comprehensive portfolio of 70+ housing, health and wealth-building programs, but also its theory of change that the path out of homelessness begins with stable housing.
As part of these changes, VOA-GNY also clarified that its portfolio of adult and youth programs in Northern New Jersey will operate the banner of Volunteers of America–Northern New Jersey (VOA-NNJ), A Division of VOA-GNY, reflecting the organization’s expanding reach and continued commitment to communities in New Jersey including more robust legislative advocacy efforts. A new logo for VOA-NNJ has been introduced to represent this work.
