Empowering adults with disabilities who are experiencing homelessness


Personalized job training and career coaching for adults with disabilities who are striving to achieve employment goals

VOA-GNY’s Career Access program is designed for adults above the age of 18 who are experiencing homelessness in New York City and have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Through personalized job training and career coaching, participants can expect to gain the skills and confidence needed to begin seeking employment within one year of enrollment. Participants will also receive follow up support from an Economic Empowerment Specialist for up to a year, even after employment has been secured.

Participants whose employment goals involve longer-term training or education will be referred to the appropriate academic and training institutions including ACCES-VR, New York State’s vocational rehabilitation service.
