Single Adult Shelter

Housing Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens

Service Overview

While permanent housing, often coupled with supportive services, is the best way to end homelessness, temporary shelter is still a critical tool in our response. It provides an essential safety net to prevent or reduce unsheltered homelessness and serves as a stopgap amid a regional shortage of affordable housing and delays in accessing rental assistance.

VOA-GNY operates several shelters for adults who are in need of immediate housing. Our staff work in partnership with clients to assess possible reasons for their homelessness and how best to support them in overcoming barriers to achieving housing stability.
