Rethink Food, a chef-led nonprofit, has been partnering with Volunteers of America-Greater New York to provide weekly, chef-created culturally appropriate meals for families living in one of our emergency shelters in Manhattan.

On August 27th, Chef Daniel Humm, owner of award-winning restaurant Eleven Madison Park and co-founder of Rethink Food, distributed meals at the shelter with Matt Jozwiak, Rethink Food founder and CEO, and Jeff Ginsburg, President and CEO of VOA-GNY.

“Rethink provides real food and good food—food that our families and residents actually want to eat,” Ginsburg said. “Sometimes when you’re at the toughest moment in your life, that meal can really make a difference. We’re really grateful to work with Rethink.”

Humm also signed and distributed copies of his children’s book Daniel’s Dream as children picked up new backpacks with school supplies through Operation Backpack®.
