News 12 reported on the grand opening of VOA-GNY’s YP Senior Residence, a new 117-unit affordable and supportive senior housing property in the Morris Heights neighborhood of the Bronx.
“Seniors are experiencing homelessness at the fastest rate of any population in New York,” said Jeffrey R. Ginsburg, President and CEO of VOA-GNY.
News 12 interviewed Arcadio Torres, a resident at the new senior complex.
“Rooms are so expensive,” Torres said. “One small little room for $1,400 — it’s too much. But this is my dream now. We really need some more buildings like this.”
