City & State: Catherine Trapani Named as Notable Figure Shaping NYC Policy

The list highlights influential government relations professionals in the city. 

Catherine Trapani, Assistant Vice President of Public Policy at Volunteers of America-Greater New York, was recognized in City & State’s 2025 Who’s Who in Government Relations.  

Trapani earned the recognition as a longtime housing and homeless services expert advocating for policies that support New Yorkers experiencing homelessness and poverty. She joined VOA-GNY last year after leading Homeless Services United for seven years, where she helped expand eligibility for the city’s housing voucher program.  

In her current role, Trapani has played a pivotal role in championing the SAFE Shelter Act and a bill mandating training for first responders on the signs of traumatic brain injury in domestic violence survivors.
