The Honickman Companies Golf Invitational Raises $645,000, Bringing Total Giving Over $3.2 Million

Volunteers of America-Greater New York received $250,000 from The Honickman Companies, which supports our innovative services for families and individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

The Honickman Companies raised $645,000 at its 7th Annual Golf Invitational event benefitting VOA-GNY, UNCF (United Negro College Fund), Covenant House Pennsylvania and Philabundance held on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Volunteers of America-Greater New York is honored to receive a $250,000 contribution, which supports our innovative services for families and individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. Championed by The Honickman Companies’ leadership, the invitational has now raised over $3.2 million since its inception in 2020.

“The 7th Annual Honickman Invitational was an incredible success because of the people who showed up with open hearts and a shared commitment to service,” said Reginald Goins, President and COO of The Honickman Companies and VOA-GNY Board Chair. “Days like this remind us that when we all come together, we can create real impact. We are proud to support the extraordinary work of VOA-GNY, UNCF, Covenant House Pennsylvania and Philabundance, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s event so special.”

The Angela and Reginald Goins Charity Fund continued their tradition of personally matching all contributions made at the event. In addition to Goins serving as Board Chair for VOA-GNY, he is a member of the UNCF New York Leadership Council.

Throughout the outing, guests enjoyed friendly competition across the course, including signature hole contests such as Beat the Boss, Beat the NBA Pro and Steal the Pro’s Drive. For the first time, the Invitational also featured a pickleball tournament, expanding the event experience beyond the golf course and giving attendees another fun and competitive way to participate in the day’s activities.

The Honickman Companies is a dedicated partner of VOA-GNY, supporting our signature community service campaign, Operation Backpack®, which provides school supplies for children experiencing homelessness, and our annual fundraising gala in New York City which benefits VOA-GNY’s 70+ housing, health, and wealth-building programs across the region.
