VOA-GNY’s latest affordable housing project, YP Senior Residence, was featured in News12’s “Rebuilding the Bronx,” a segment focused on improving the borough. Reporter Natalie Hernandez interviewed one of the first residents to move into the building, Nellie Roman.
“Coming here, I knew it was a safe haven,” said Roman, who is formerly homeless.
Mariel Cruceta, AVP of Supportive Housing, spoke about the architectural design of the building, emphasizing the communal spaces on each floor to combat social isolation.
