Create a "Birthday-in-a-Box" at your office or with your friends and family, complete with all the items needed to throw a great party. Drop off birthday party supplies or mail them to our office at 135 West 50th Street, 9th Floor, New York, NY 10020. This is for our programs that are located too far away from Manhattan to send volunteers.

Birthday-in-a-Box Checklist

These items are packed and delivered to the shelter:

  • 3 new, wrapped gifts per birthday child
  • Gift cards for the older children
  • Crown for each birthday child with his/her name
  • Nametag for each birthday child
  • Party hats for other guests
  • Decorations like streamers, banners, balloons
  • Juice Boxes
  • Napkins
  • Paper Plates
  • Plastic Forks
  • Plastic or Paper Cups
  • Tablecloths (plastic or paper)
  • Candles
  • Crafts Projects (e.g. markers and plain wooden picture frames or boxes to decorate)

Optional items:

  • Face paint, balloons & directions for making balloon animals, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, ring toss, BINGO and other fun activities
  • Goody Bags for the non-birthday children
  • Photo paper so that the children can take home a picture — a memento of their special day
  • We are in need of 7 new photo printers at $150 each, carrying cases for $33 and extra ink and paper for $30
