Volunteer Opportunity: Childcare/Recreation Volunteer
Description: Assist teaching/recreation assistants with implementing daily lesson plans, activities and outings and with managing educational environment. Assist w/ cleaning, organizing and decorating classroom. Debrief staff after each session and report questions/concerns. Must have a background working with children, be organized and able to give instructions, reliable, responsible, flexible, adaptable, and able to work with a diverse population. Must be 16+ to volunteer. Commitment of 1-3 hours/week for 4 months Monday-Friday between 8am-7pm. Program tour and orientation provided.

Volunteer Opportunity: Tutor
Description: Help children understand the fundamental concepts of math, science, reading, etc. in accordance with course of study. Take attendance. Complete progress reports after each tutoring session. Clean-up tutoring area after session. Debrief staff after each session and report questions/concerns. Must have sufficient knowledge of elementary, middle school and high school subject matter. Must be organized, able to give instructions, reliable, responsible, flexible, and adaptable. Must be 16+ to volunteer. Commitment of 1-3 hours/week for 4 months between 3-6pm daily. Program tour and orientation provided.

Volunteer Opportunity: Health & Wellness Volunteer - Dance Instructor
Description: Develop weekly dance curriculum with recreation staff. Take attendance and encourage participation. Assist recreation staff in publicizing dance sessions. Debrief staff after each session and report questions/concerns. Create a dance to be performed at end of 4-month period. Must have a background in dance education, dance experience a plus. Must be organized, able to give instructions, reliable, responsible, flexible, adaptable, and able to work with a diverse population. Must be 18+ to volunteer. Commitment of 2 hours/week for 4 months Monday-Friday between 5-7pm.

Description: Conduct 1-2 hour long yoga/fitness classes. Take attendance and encourage participation. Complete group progress notes and submit to supervisor. Debrief staff after each session and report questions/concerns. Must have a background in yoga and fitness, certified/licensed instructor preferred. Must be organized, able to give instructions, reliable, responsible, flexible, adaptable, and able to work with a diverse population. Commitment of 3 hours/week for 4 months Monday-Friday between 11am-8pm required. Program tour and orientation provided.

Description: Facilitate pre-GED classes 3 days/ week for 2 hours/day. Assist residents in going through the Pre-GED prep book. Six month commitment. Bachelor’s degree required. One day orientation provided.
