Be Part of the #OBPFirstDay Campaign!

In New York City, there are close to 23,000 students who are homeless. Many of these children would go to school without the supplies they need if not for Operation Backpack®. To shed light on family homelessness in New York City, and help ensure that every student starts school on day one with a full backpack, we are launching the #OBPFirstDay campaign this year!

Starting on July 9, share a favorite “First Day of School” photo of yourself (or a child in your life) on Twitter, Instagram, and/or Facebook using the hashtag #OBPFirstDay, and our generous partner The Weeks Lerman Group will donate $2 (up to $10,000) to Operation Backpack® for every photo shared.

Friends of Operation Backpack® including Kevin Bacon, Paige Davis, and Madeline Weinstein have already joined in the campaign!

Spread the word to others by using the basic information in this text for your post:

Help 18,000+ homeless NYC children start school with the school supplies they need by supporting @VOAgny's #OperationBackpackNYC. Share a favorite First Day of School photo with the hashtag #OBPFirstDay and @weekslerman will donate $2 for every photo shared!

Remember how excited you felt on the first day of school ready to show off your new school supplies? We want to make sure every New York City student feels the same way! On behalf of the children who will benefit, thank you for your support. We couldn’t do it each year without your help!
