Donations in Action

To allow the public to see first-hand how Volunteers of America-Greater New York is changing lives, we are offering tours at 3 of our programs: Regent Family Residence, the Bronx Early Learning Center, and the Staten Island Early Learning Center. To arrange a tour, please contact Rachel Weinstein, VP/Chief Communications Officer, at (212) 496-4311 or via email at rweinstein@voa-gny.org.

Regent Family Residence

A transitional residence for 140 homeless families, providing comprehensive services to help them achieve independence and obtain permanent housing. Located in North Manhattan, the residence hosts monthly birthday parties for the children and offers numerous volunteer and underwriting opportunities for corporate and community groups.

The Bronx Early Learning Center

The Bronx Early Learning Center (BELC) is located on Bathgate Avenue in the South Bronx. Two-thirds of the 260 children attending the Early Learning Center have developmental delays associated with autism, Down syndrome, attention deficit disorder and neurological and emotional issues, some associated with lead poisoning and fetal alcohol syndrome.

The Staten Island Early Learning Center

Many of the girls and boys who attend Staten Island Early Learning Center have significant developmental delays associated with autism, Down syndrome, attention deficit disorder, and neurological and emotional issues.
