Dolores Swirin-Yao
Vice President, Development

A 30-year veteran of the nonprofit world, Dolores Swirin-Yao has served in senior leadership roles across many prestigious organizations including the American Red Cross, the Girl Scouts, York College/CUNY, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, among others. In her role as Vice President for Development at VOA-Greater New York, she brings an expertise in development with a specialization in helping organizations start, turn around or take their fundraising programs to the next level.
Since arriving at VOA-GNY in 2018, Ms. Swirin-Yao has established a planned giving program and secured a $25,000 charitable gift annuity. She also launched a direct mail program, including a 250,000-piece acquisition mailing plan, and developed the organization's first "case for support," describing our organization's work and the importance of private funding for the agency.
Continuing to help VOA-GNY diversify its funding, she is building our efforts to attract substantial private contributions to VOA-GNY.
Ms. Swirin-Yao received her M.A. in French Literature from Columbia University.
