Brian Bardell
Vice President, Business Development & Program Services

Brian Bardell is an accomplished administrator with more than 20 years of management experience in human services. He currently serves as Vice President of Business Development & Program Services for VOA-Greater New York (VOA-GNY), where he is responsible for the expansion and growth of the organization, while leading and managing a comprehensive array of services and programs in accordance with the mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Mr. Bardell joined VOA-GNY in 1999, serving as Associate Director of Operations at Camp LaGuardia, VOA-GNY’s former 1001-bed shelter in Westchester, then in 2004 took on the role of Program Director at Lydia E. Hoffman Family Residence. In 2006, Mr. Bardell became Associate Division Director/Director of Veterans Initiatives.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Bardell was the Assistant Vice President of New York City Specialized Housing and Veterans Initiatives, overseeing 17 programs serving veterans, survivors of domestic violence, formerly homeless children and adults, and individuals with behavioral health issues and/or HIV/AIDS. Under his leadership, VOA-GNY expanded its veterans housing, and became New York City's sole provider of two innovative peer support programs for veterans struggling to reintegrate — Battle Buddy Bridge (B3) and Resilience Strength Training.
Mr. Bardell currently serves as a founding member of the Veterans Executive Task Force for the New York City Continuum of Care. He is an active participant in lobby efforts and other development projects with The Supportive Housing Network of New York, The National Association to End Homelessness, The National Coalition of Homeless Veterans, The United States Department of Veteran Affairs, The United States Department of Labor, The United States General Services Administration, The Association for Community Living of New York, and VOCAL New York.
Mr. Bardell holds a B.S. in Liberal Arts from the Nazareth College of Rochester and is certified in Low Income Housing Tax Credit Compliance.
