October Volunteer Opportunities

Trick or Treat!
Initiatives like Operation Backpack® and Brightening Birthdays™ exist to help normalize the lives of children in our shelters. So, what's Halloween without costumes?
Participate in our new Halloween Heroes Costume Drive and collect new costumes for children living in our shelters. We've put together Amazon and Walmart wish lists to make it easy. Or, talk to us about hosting a Halloween party at a shelter, complete with snacks and games!
Honor Our US Navy Veterans

The US Navy was founded on October 13, 1775. Recognize this historic day and show your appreciation for the US Navy veterans and others who have served our country by hosting a luncheon, games night or other event at one of our veterans residences.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The women and families living in our domestic violence shelters are survivors, and what better way to show that you recognize and applaud their bravery than by holding an event to lift their spirits or empower them to continue improving their well-being. Host a dinner or an art party that will bring joy to families in recovery!
