Help Our Seniors Stay Warm This Winter!

Did you know that as we age, our bodies are more sensitive to cold temperatures? This #GivingTuesday, we’re looking to make sure that our older adults are warm and comfortable through the winter. You can make a big difference by giving a simple holiday gift!
This year, we aim to collect 92 of the coziest bathrobes for formerly homeless adults and veterans over the age of 55 at our East 12th Street Residence, so that they're comfortable this holiday season —
physically and emotionally. Each resident has their own room, but they share bathrooms, so having a quality bathrobe is essential for traveling to and from the shower comfortably and with dignity.
Many of our residents do not have close contact with their own families, so we strive to make them feel cared for and appreciated during the holiday season. We’ve been doing it for years through our adult gift drive, Burt and Barbara’s Gifts of the Heart, and now we’re looking to bring an extra dose of joy to these individuals so that they can experience some holiday cheer.
If you’d like to participate, please contact Andrew Zibell at azibell@voa-gny.org. Or, purchase a bathrobe on our Amazon Wish List.
