December Volunteer Opportunities

Help Spread Holiday Cheer
Bring the joy of the season to families, veterans and older adults in our residential programs by sponsoring a festive holiday party! Past events have included a hot cocoa night with cookie decorating, a Grinch-themed party for kids, and a delicious holiday lunch served with all the trimmings. We'll work with you to plan a festive event that fits your budget and group size.
Collect Toys & Gifts
Every holiday season, Volunteers of America-Greater New York holds several drives to make the holidays special for the people we serve.

Toys for the Holidays helps brighten the season for children in our homeless and domestic violence shelters, pre-K schools for students with developmental delays, and group homes for at-risk youth. Burt and Barbara's Gifts of the Heart helps ensure adults in our programs without family or close friends are not forgotten by giving small, thoughtful gifts like slippers, cozy throws, scarves and board games.
