Celebrating 125 Years Strong!

On December 6, 2021 we gathered at our NY@Heart gala to celebrate the STRENGTH, DETERMINATION and RESILIENCE of the community and VOA-Greater New York (VOA-GNY)—not only this past year, but the last 125 years! Thanks to your generosity, we raised a record $1 million+ through the gala, all of which will directly benefit our 66 housing and other human services programs and help us get closer to our vision of ending homelessness in the greater New York area by 2050.

We were delighted to welcome back Willie Geist, host of NBC’s Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist and co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, as our Master of Ceremonies.

    Lifetime Achievement Award

    Once a client at VOA-GNY's Regent Family Residence, artist, entrepreneur, actor and fashion icon A$AP Rocky is the recipient of VOA-GNY's first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes an individual who has not only demonstrated extraordinary resilience by rising above difficult circumstances to achieve remarkable success, but who has shown great empathy and generosity by giving back to the community.

    Spirit of New York Award

    We are thrilled to have honored our friend and board member Reginald Goins, President & COO of The Honickman Companies (includes Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of NY), with the Spirit of New York Award. No one is more deserving of this special recognition than Reginald. His friends and colleagues know his generosity and concern for the well-being of everyone around him. He may not be a native New Yorker, but he IS a New Yorker in spirit. He says it like it is and believes there’s no challenge that can’t be met if we’re in it together.
