2nd Annual River House Raft Race

The second annual River House Raft Race was held on September 26.  Approximately 120 guests joined in the festivities and watched rafts built by The Connecticut River Raft Association, the River House Bistro & Bar/Dunville’s Restaurant, Speedo, a company of Warnaco and Calvin Klein, also a company of Warnaco compete in an exciting race on the Saugatuck River.

Warnaco and River House Bistro & Bar sponsored the event, which helped raise funds for Charter Oak Community Support Services, a program for individuals in Connecticut living with a permanent disability, including hearing and vision impairments, developmental disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury and more. 

Celebrities Barry Wood, of TLC’s Trading Spaces, and “Good Morning Connecticut’s” Matt Scott judged the race and awarded the following:
·         1st place: The Knotty Girl, Connecticut River Raft Association

·         2nd place: The Annalissa, The River House Bistro and Bar/Dunville's Restaurant

·         3rd place: Gilligan's Island, Volunteers of America

·         The Most Rustic: The Huck Finn, Speedo, a Warnaco company

·         The Most Off Course: The SS Minnow, Calvin Klein, a Warnaco company

·         The Poseidon Award (best crew in the face of disaster): Speedo, a Warnaco company

·         The River Wears Prada Award (best dressed crew): Gilligan's Island, Volunteers of America
