Operation Backpack Corporate Partners
Volunteers of America’s Back-to-School drive began in 1999 as a small effort that collected school supplies for the children in our shelters. In 2002 the campaign was reorganized and rebranded Operation Backpack to reflect its ambitious, new goal: to give every child in the New York City shelter system who needed one, a new backpack filled with exactly the supplies they needed for their specific grade in school.
