Toys for the Holidays 2011 a huge success!
Employees form Novotel (left) and Amherst (right) volunteered to wrap and sort donated toys and gifts.
Volunteers of America - Greater New York is pleased to report that our 2011 holiday gift drives were more successful than ever before. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity and hard work of individuals and corporate groups throughout the region, we were able to provide toys for thousands of children in our homeless and domestic violence shelters, early learning centers for children with developmental delays and group homes for youth in crisis. We were also very pleased to provide holiday gifts for hundreds of older adults in our care.

Toys for the Holidays, Secret Santa, and Gifts of the Heart are programs that bring smiles to faces of children and adults who are experiencing difficulties most of us can only imagine. We express our heartfelt gratitude, and that of our clients, to the following companies and individuals. Some held toy drives, some shopped to fill Santa letters, some donated money, some helped us sort and wrap the gifts; but all gave of themselves to share the warmth of the season with strangers who are their neighbors in need:
