Fox & Friends Coverage of the Parade
A beloved New York tradition since 1902, Volunteers of America's signature Sidewalk Santas® are a welcome holiday sight for seasoned New Yorkers and visitors alike. Parading through Midtown Manhattan, Sidewalk Santas® serve as a gentle seasonal reminder that many of our neighbors struggle year-round to meet the most basic needs, and in what is known as the season of giving, we can help. Money raised through this program helps fund the Holiday Food Voucher program, allowing Volunteers of America to send tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of food vouchers to New Yorkers in need, including the frail elderly, formerly homeless families and others who are seriously ill. These vouchers – veritable “food gift cards” – work like cash in local area supermarkets, allowing the recipient to purchase and prepare a meal that is special to them, rather than having to rely on a food pantry or soup kitchen for a holiday meal.

In the spirit of giving we invite you to share some of your bounty with those less fortunate.
