Last Year's Success: Bowl to Give Back 2011
2011 Bowl to Give Back Tournament Champions, the team from Coach
Volunteers of America's Bowl to Give Back 2011, presented by The Camps Group, was a smashing success. A new record had been set for this event, with more than $90,000 net being raised for Volunteers of America's vital social services. Teams from generous corporate sponsors, along with individual donors and friends of VOA, gathered at Bowlmor Lanes Times Square. The team from first-time Bowl to Give Back sponsor Coach took home the first-place trophy.
Strike-a-Prize gifts included a stay at Trump International Hotel, house seats for Broadway's Spiderman Turn Off the Dark, and choice Yankees tickets. Chef David Burke provided hors d'oeuvres, and a premium open bar added to the party athmosphere.
The event kicked off Operation Backpack, our drive to collect, prepare and deliver filled backpacks for the thousands of kids in local homeless shelters by the start of the school year. Guests inaugurated the 2011 drive by bringing dozens of backpacks to donate.
